Moonlight Crosses the Ceiling

The moon crosses the bedroom ceiling without hurry. It lights the corner of the quilt first, then the lamp base, then the clock face. No switch gets flipped. The earth keeps turning, the way it always has, carrying the bed and the window and the sleeping person along.
