Everything Is On Sale

The sign says EVERYTHING and the sign is not lying. Everything is on sale today, the bananas and the calendars and the small plastic horses, the idea of Tuesday, the feeling you had at nineteen on a curb at midnight. Prices have been slashed. A man in a vest will tell you it ends tonight, and he is correct, it does end tonight, all of it, because that is what tonight is for. Bring the whole family. Bring the cart. Bring the part of yourself that still believes a bargain is a kind of love.
